| Inclusive Solar Power- (ISP Model) |
Aimed at providing long-term, fixed cost & clean energy to the poorest regions of the world in order to foster economic growth and improve education and health care, the Inclusive Solar Power (ISP) Development Model developed by USS is based on three core principles: Inclusion, Solar Service & Participation
Each solar electrification project is geared specifically for the needs of the selected rural community, with full participation of the members.. USS helps villagers determine priorities, project scope, and are active participants at all stages of the project. Solar systems, and other project equipment are purchased by villagers through micro-credit financing. This enables limited development funds to help greater amounts of people.
In addition to the solar systems, training and installation, local partners will be assisted in establishing a future supply chain for purchase of any spare parts or for project expansion.
With the introduction of electric power via solar systems, remote areas will now have the means to provide more effective services in education, health, and sanitation. These new services can serve as a catalyst for economic development through workforce capacity building, as well as improved living conditions throughout the region. |
